You know, the Greeks didn’t write obituaries.
They only asked one question after a man died:
“Did he have passion?”
Dean Kansky, Serendipity.
I don’t know about you (actually I’m pretty sure) but when the news broke about the cowardice terrorist attacks in Brussels Belgium, I got pretty pissed off.
The thoughts in my mind towards those blind bound ISSI savages were not good, to say the least.
Passion.
There is of course, good passion and bad passion. Anyone who would be a part of such an organization or carry out such atrocities is…well, you know!
Two definitions of passion came up when I put it in Google on my iPhone.
1. strong and barely controllable emotion.
“a man (and I’ll add a woman 🙂 of impetuous passion”
2. the suffering and death of Jesus. (which is 100% appropriate seeing it’s Easter weekend)
“meditations on the Passion of Christ”
synonyms: crucifixion, suffering, agony, martyrdom.
What are some of your passions? Do you have a specific one that stands out from the rest? One that really gets you going in the morning?
The passion I’m writing about is quote, “bigger than we are.”Like that Giant Sequoia in this picture. 🙂
Fishing, camping, the outdoors, surfing, skiing or snowboarding, jogging, adventurous mini vacations etc. are all fun passions to have. I love all those things! They refresh you and make you fell rejuvenated and that’s really important for our lives, for sure.
But when someone takes it a step deeper, if you will, that’s when true fulfillment in life begins to take root.
One of my passions is speaking into someones life. Encouraging them to keep pressing on, to dream bigger and to enlarge their vision for their life.
It often is the case when I need encouragement the most personally that the Lord puts me in front of someone who is down and out on themselves, ready to throw in the towel and give up. And after our time together I find myself personally really encouraged, ready to step it up, forge forward, getting refocused with that definiteness of purpose.
It’s all about imparting to others.
Do this and your passion in life will go deeper and you will find yourself living a life of purpose.
A local church put their flyer on my car window inviting us to their Easter services. On it was written their church’s purpose or motto:
• be Positive
• be Intentional
• be Generous
Thought it was pretty cool. Now, lets go live life with passion and definiteness of purpose.
Happy Easter!
